St.Marys food bank recap

October 8, 2016 Arizona Phi Beta Lambda members volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank.  7 members from Phoenix College, 3 members from Northern Arizona University EC .1 member and 2 guest from Central Arizona College.

We were charged with the task of filling food boxes, several members were assigned to load boxes, while others were assigned to card/ dunnage detail. We even had several members removing plastic from food items so that the packing volunteers could load the boxes efficiently.

Music was played to entertain us several of our members were dancing to the beats. Several members told me it felt good to help people on member was amazed at the size of their operation.

Christopher Grimsley sent us this thank you note “ I just wanted to reach out and say “Thanks” to you and Arizona Phi Beta Lambda for your assistance in providing over 10,000 meals during your volunteer opportunity! In addition to volunteering, we invite you to host a food or funds donation drive to help us provide the necessary meals to individuals struggling with hunger.  We can provide boxes to collect food and / or cash donations, and our staff will pick them up at the end of your drive.  It’s an easy way to deepen your impact!”

 Thank you for your help!
